100 Years of Ethnic Cleansing

"Acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical , racial or religious group ." Even the intentional submission of a group conditions of life that result in death , both physical and cultural , total or partial constitute genocide , according to the intention of the jurist Raphael Lemkin who in 1944 coined the term as a scholar and expert on the Armenian genocide. The victims of genocide vary from a minimum of 61,218,837 and a maximum of 145,010,837 of people, this only in our century. Ethnic cleansing is a central problem of our civilization, of our concept of progress and our attempt to introduce democracy . It's our dark side . Democracy contains the possibility that an ethnic group can tyrannize another group . Civil wars have been replaced by the wars between states in the role of main killer . Almost always ethnic in nature. Many say that this is due to the rise of nationalism in the world. And it's true . But nationalism becomes really dangerous when it is politicized. In ideal conditions multiethnic government intersects with demos dominant ethnos, generating concepts that encourage the elimination of minorities. In Russia, the demos was confused with the proletariat, the working class, they did pressures for the elimination of other classes. Why some democracies have less likely to enter the dark side? we can create a template with which it is possible to recognize the risk before of the facts ? The documentary will analize the tragedies that occurred from 1915 to now. We will analyze the "why" of the events . Armenians, Holodomor , Shoah are just some of the tragedies that occurred although the best known. Speaking of those tragedies we can better understand what are the risks that we are running.
